Subject: News from ADHO: Conferences, Publication Opportunities, and More
It’s a busy time, with the DH2027 Call for Proposals open (closing 20 November!) and the transition into the next year of ADHO activities fully underway. Thanks again to the DH2026 team, who submitted their final report and shared valuable insights with ADHO leadership and future years’ conference planners. On that front, the DH2028 Program Committee is in the process of being formed, and we look forward to their work beginning in the new year.
DH2027 promises to be incredibly exciting, with the theme of “Creativity” and focusing on (1) computational creativity; (2) creative methods and interpretation; (3) creative engagements with cultural heritage; (4) digital arts; and (5) creative technologies. This year, in addition to a special technical track, there will be a digital art(s) track, which promises to bring new types of work to the conference. Additionally, long papers will be published in a separate proceedings volume in the Anthology of Computers and the Humanities, a new undertaking for the conference and a wonderful opportunity for presenters. For those looking for SIG pre-conference activities, note that they will be available as in previous years but will follow a separate submission process outside of ConfTool. The planning teams have put together a helpful FAQ, so give that a look.
In order to make this conference successful, we rely on the global DH community, especially in the form of proposal review. The Call for Reviewers for DH2027 is open, closing on 20 November. Please consider reviewing!
Thank you to all who applied to join the ADHO leadership team, whether for the Awards Committee or the Communications Fellow position. We are still interviewing candidates for the Fellow position, so more soon on that front.
And we are delighted to announce that the new Incoming Deputy Chair of the ADHO Awards Committee is Jeff Love - welcome to Jeff!
Please explore the many activities and opportunities from around the international DH community below. Across the ADHO Constituent Organizations and Special Interest Groups, and beyond, there’s something for everyone. Many thanks to ADHO Communications Officer, Dena Shamsizadeh, for her tireless work in putting together this newsletter.
Best,
Kristen Mapes
ADHO Executive Board, Chair
