We are thrilled to bring you this special issue of the newsletter, devoted to the DH2026 conference. As you have hopefully already seen the Call for Proposals is open, and it will close in just under one month. The conference theme this year, “Engagement”, articulates two subthemes: “Translating | Translinguality in the Era of AI”, “Annotating | Beyond Patterns: Interpretation with Small Data”, and “Remembering | Digital Humanities and the Memory of the World”.
Please be aware that we updated our protocols beginning this year, and the CFP no longer includes panels. There is a technical track available as well, and the conference will be fully hybrid, so remote presentation is an option. Proposals are requested for submission in English, although you are welcome to present in the language of your choice, as the Local Organizers will introduce an (optional) AI-powered translator during conference presentations.
In preparation for the closing of the CFP, the Local Organizing Team and ADHO’s Conference Officer, Walter Schloger, have been working tirelessly in ConfTool to ensure that our reviewer pool is up to date and ready to do the essential and exciting work of reviewing submissions. Thanks to the team for modernizing the backend of ADHO’s ConfTool account and for opening up the Reviewer Sign Up process. If you are not yet a reviewer (or are unsure), please consider filling out the nomination form by December 5. Your contributions to the DH community through reviews are invaluable to developing scholarship across the field.

DH 2026: Daejeon, South Korea, July 27–31, 2026 - Call for Papers
The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) invites submissions for its annual conference, DH2026: Engagement, to be held in Daejeon, South Korea.
We welcome proposals relating to all aspects of digital humanities. Submissions may focus on the conference sub-themes:
Formats: long papers, short papers, posters, pre-conference workshops or mini-conferences, and the technical track.

Call for Reviewers
ADHO invites you to serve as a reviewer for the annual conference, DH2026: Engagement.
Reviewing is both a valuable and much appreciated service to the DH community and an important responsibility. Reviewers will be asked to complete a minimum of four reviews in any of the submission formats available for the conference. DH2026 will use the double-anonymous (double-blind) peer review process. Authors' and reviewers' identities will not be disclosed. All submissions and reviews are expected to be written in English.

Conference Bursary Awards
Keep in mind that accepted submissions for the conference have the opportunity to be awarded a Conference Bursary Award, which supports early career scholars. Application for the Award does not open until after acceptances go out in the new year.
Awards are available for in-person presenters as well as remote presenters. For remote presenters, the Award covers the cost of registration. For in-person presenters, the award is given as reimbursement up to 550 EUR for travel and expenses, and inter-continental travel awardees have the opportunity to request up to 300 EUR additionally to defray some of the added costs of travel.

Announcements from ADHO Constituent Organizations
The Digital Humanities Australasia Conference will take place December 2-5, 2025. Registration is open https://dha25.org/
The Humanistica Conference will take place May 20-22, 2026 in Paris. The Call for Proposals is open, closing on January 7, 2026.
The Canadian Society for Digital Humanities / Société canadienne des humanités numériques (CSDH/SCHN) will hold its conference June 3-5, 2026 in Montreal.
Save the date: The Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) Conference will be held June 24-26, 2026. Further information will be available soon on ach.org, including the forthcoming Call for Papers.
The JADH conference will be held in September 2026 at Kyushu University. The Journal of JADH has also released its Call for Proposals.
The European Association of Digital Humanities (EADH) conference will be in Kraków around September 15–19, 2026.
The Associazione per l’Informatica Umanistica e la Cultura Digitale (AIUCD) conference will be in Cagliari, June 3-5, 2026.
